Bookkeeper - Transportation / Logistics Industry (Temp-to-Hire)

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for a temp-to-hire opportunity within the transportation or logistics industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has hands-on experience managing financial operations unique to transportation, logistics, or freight.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping functions, including AP/AR, billing, and bank reconciliations
• Process high-volume invoices, freight bills, and vendor payments
• expense reports are updated on a weekly basis
• Maintain accurate driver settlements, fuel reports, and load-related expenses
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with month-end close
• Collaborate with operations, dispatch, and logistics teams to ensure accuracy
• Maintain organized and compliant financial records

Qualifications

• 2+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in transportation, trucking, logistics, or freight
• Strong understanding of industry-specific billing processes (freight, loads, carrier invoices, fuel charges, etc.)
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, TMW, McLeod, or similar
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
